Our New Home

The new facility is located at 532 Ellice Avenue. It is a well built, 30-year-old, solid brick structure with a large main floor and a mezzanine level. Situated between the Duckworth Centre and the West End Cultural Centre and just north of the Magnus Eliason Recreation Centre, we are in a great location to serve our young people. Those we have spoken to in the neighbourhood are happy to see us re-purpose an industrial type business into a place for community; something of which everyone involved in the project should be proud.

 CommunityBenefits

According to Statistics Canada, our new neighbourhood is populated by a majority of lower-income families, with 91% of them having children in the age range to which we provide service. The new location will allow us to decrease transportation barriers and offer more after-school mentoring opportunities.

It is pivotal for us to be close and able to connect more often with local organizations working in the area. Our relationships with the University of Winnipeg, Spence Neighbourhood Association and West Central Women’s Resource Centre will be strengthened and the capacity to serve will be increased.

This new step in our history is important to many Winnipeg children and youth who are greatly impacted by the services we provide. Our future home will bring our community closer together and will help even more children realize their full potential.
