Over the past three years, RBC Royal Direct has taken a leading role in fundraising for our bowling event and their employees have raised over $45,000 in support of our programs during that time. Anyone who has seen this group at BFKS has seen the energy and enthusiasm they bring! Over 50 of their staff come out to bowl at the event – they even do a bit of dancing and singing. This Title Sponsorship is a continuation of our relationship and shows the commitment that RBC has to mentorship!

RBC is also committed to making a lasting social impact through inspired, responsible giving and by building strong partnerships with the charitable sector. In Manitoba alone, they invested more than $2.1 million to 170 different charitable groups in communities across the province in 2010. They support endeavours that empower organizations to make a difference and inspire others. In order to maximize the impact of their donations, they focus their support in six key areas: education, health & wellness, social services, civic, environment, and arts & culture. Signature programs in these key focus areas include: RBC Blue Water Project, RBC After School Grants Program, RBC Children’s Mental Health and RBC Emerging Artists Program.

At RBC, their employee volunteerism is a special accomplishment because it comes from the heart and generosity of each individual person. It’s a direct reflection of the workplace culture and support provided for this kind of community involvement.

“We know that the employees in Manitoba are special and do more volunteer work than any other group of RBC employees in Canada,” says Carla Balcom, . “At RBC Royal Bank, we are proud to support Bowl for Kids Sake and Big Brothers Big Sisters! We believe in the difference that a mentor can make in the life of a child and for our community as a whole. We are proud to set a high level of fundraising excellence for this event! We challenge others in our community to do the same!”

“Without community leaders, like RBC, we would not see the type of success we have over the last three years at this event,” says Greg Unger, Executive Director at BBBS, “the fact that they support the efforts of their employees and really get behind the fundraising is a testament to the kind of community they believe we can have and the type of work culture they promote.”

The RBC Bowl for Kids Sake event will take place on February 25, 2012 at Academy Lanes. Contact Cat Ross today at 988-9215 to get your team in on the funraising!
