Kewaywin is part of the Manitoba Justice Empowering Justice Program. Run in partnership with Onashowewin, Choices Youth Program and Macdonal Youth Sevice, this program is aimed to reach youth who are at risk in the community.

Youth 12-13 will be referred to us through the Choices Youth Program for recreational and First Nations and Metis cultural programming.

Volunteers will be matched with a group of volunteers and youth (maximum one volunteer to three youth). The commitment is only a few hours every two weeks, for a year. Activities will be supervised, structured and lots of fun.

Volunteers
  • Share fun and friendship
  • Are kind, caring men and women from all walks of life
  • Have a few hours a week to share

Activities

  • Pool
  • Foosball
  • Ping Pong
  • Nintendo Wii
  • Movies
  • Music
  • Art
  • Tossing a football at the park
  • Bomber/Goldeyes games

There will be a strong First Nations and Metis component to this program for youth who want to participate in, and learn more about their culture. All members of this program will be able to experience sweats, feasting, storytelling, and much more!
