What are the steps to becoming a Mentor? Step One:
All potential mentors or volunteer "BIGs" should attend an Orientation Session. Here you will learn about the different programs we run and time commitments required for each. Sessions are offered twice a month at our office. You can register for one of the following upcoming dates by filling out the Inquiry Form. Please indicate in the comments section which date you can attend, January 11th 6pm January 25th 6pm February 6th 6pm February 23rd 6pm
If none of these dates are possible, please call the office and speak to an Enrollment Caseworker at 988-9200. They can book an alternative date for you.

Step Two:
Once you have attended your Orientation or read the online document, you will have a good sense of the programs and understand the time commitment involved for each. You can now download an application here. (Right Click on the link below and "save target as.") Volunteer Application
Indicate on the application what program you are applying for and email it to bigwinnipeg.com or you can fax, mail, or drop off the forms in person. Step Three:
Once we have received your application we will schedule an interview with you. At the interview you will be asked for 3 references; one family, one friend and one employer. A police check and child abuse registry check will be done and then you will be on your way to becoming a Big!
